Bruce R. Needham is a partner with KNMT and is a registered patent attorney with a strong technical background.  He has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Brigham Young University and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.  Mr. Needham graduated from the S.J. Quinney College of Law, at the University of Utah, in 2005.  He joined KNMT in the 2003.

Mr. Needham joined Rockwell International in 1988 as a designer of the power system for the International Space Station focusing on power electronics, system design, and analytical modeling. During his time at Rockwell, he developed working models of the overall Space Station power system, developed a method for determining power system stability, and published several papers on the topic.

Mr. Needham joined Spectrum Engineers as a project engineer in 1995 and was made a principal in the firm in 1998. His duties included electrical, electronic and lighting design and project management for construction projects. He received awards for the High Tech Building of the Salt Lake Community College, Jordan Campus, the George S. Eccles 2002 Legacy Bridge, and Whittier Elementary.  Mr. Needham is a licensed professional engineer in California.
 
He won best brief in the regional competition of the Giles Sutherland Rich Intellectual Property Moot Court competition in 2005.  He is licensed to practice before the federal courts in Utah and the United States Patent and Trademark Office.  He is a member of the Utah State Bar Intellectual Property Section.

Outside of the office, Mr. Needham is active in cycling, skiing, and fly fishing.
